When the temperature really starts to drop, you need to leave those tops, sweaters and cardigans in the closet. Instead, pick up one of our fabulous fleece jumpers – they’re soft, comfortable and give maximum protection from the cold. Fleece fabric was first developed in the 1980's and has since enjoyed a reputation as a tough, thick fabric that washes easily and feels great against your skin!

Choose the right fleece: outdoor half zip, micro-fleece zip up or fully lined for maximum protection

The fleece you need will depend on just how cold it’s going to get. For milder climates, a thinner fleece jumper will probably be fine – look for lighter fabric, around 220g/m², and this can even go down to 190g/m² if you choose one of our microfibre fleece models. Ideally, you’ll want a zip model that you can open easily to regulate your temperature, and a fleece gilet is a great option if you’ve already got a thick coat. If winter really starts to bite where you are, choose a thicker fabric (around 300g/m²) and a full sleeved top. These fleeces are almost jackets in themselves! Half-zip models that can be done up all the way with a high collar to keep your neck warm are sure to keep you snug. Some of our other fleeces come with full zips for versatility, and even a hood for maximum protection.

Black, white or full-colour, there’s a style for every man

Of course, style and technology have come a long way since the 1980’s. Today’s fleece jackets and jumpers are available in a wide range of colours, patterns and styles, so there’s really no excuse not to have a fleece or two in your wardrobe. Choose your fleece according to your personality – a conservative dresser will want a fleece in the classic black, grey or dark blue, while more outgoing guys may choose a red, green or patterned fleece. Feel free to mix it up though – a pale fleece will create a great contrast under a black or charcoal parka, while our navy blue designs will work brilliantly over pale cargo pants.
